Salutory Negelect? Nope.

  • Reading: "East of Eden" John Steinback
It's been 8 months since I last wrote! Man, that's a long time. It flys so fast. Before I begin on my art progress I'd like to write about something that's a bit more personal. Since I've moved to a new town, It seems I've been forced to "Grow up". Compared to last year my demeanor is much more outgoing and social but my dressing style has also changed. No more mini top had and big knee high metal boots. I guess I would be more bohemian urban? Not anywhere near my spastic style of last year much more "mature"? I guess it doesn't help that my hair style is so short and non-rock inspired. Oh well, what's one to do?

Anyway, relating this back to my art. I guess as you can say that my style has "matured" also. I miss the page long pictures I used to do about characters I was drawing at the time, I haven't done that in almost a year now. I guess, especially around the summer, I was trying to explore other avenues that I could actually put in my portfolio and not have College counselors smirk and tell me that "Anime style" is not a acceptable medium for my artwork. IDK, really. I just have to shake my head at that one. Anyway, I've been using polymer clay to make miniature food stuffs. And since going to this new school I've been using more traditional mediums. Which is what I always wanted to do but couldn't because I'd have to buy all the supplies myself. I've gotten to use pastels both oil and chalk, watercolor, acrylic and colored ink. So that's always nice :D .
I've been working on a larger portfolio piece also...I don't know how I' going to put that on here, I'd have to take a picture and I have no camera. Boo-hoo. Everything else that I've been working on for about 5 months will get but up here by next week. Just be sure to keep bugging me about it, or else I'll forget. Oh, Btw my Birthday is coming up...sweet 17 I guess. Oh where did my youth go??!! I swear, I was watching the Today show and they were advertising this new young singer and I was like, "What is he, like, 10? 11?" and it turns out he was like 15 years old. I felt like an old woman and I am only 2 years older than him.
Enough of my ramblings till next time.
Peace~Paperaya
